1. What happens with my domain once I register it with MacintoshDomains.com?
When you register a domain with MacintoshDomains.com, the domain is basically "parked" on our domain name servers for you. There is no specific hostname and/or IP address configured for your web site(s) or mail server(s), so until you do something with the domain, it is, for the most part, dormant. |
|
2. My web site and/or email is hosted by my own ISP. How do I assign DNS for my domain to that ISP?
Our domain management system will allow you to change the nameservers for your domain(s) at any time. Login here using your domain name, and the username and password you used when creating your domain account. |
|
3. I've forgotten my username and password. How do I log in to the management system?
Email support@macintoshdomains.com and we will remind you of your password. Please be sure to include your domain name so we can find you in our system. |
|
4. Now that I have a domain name registered, I'd like to run a web site. What hosting services do you provide?
We do provide a basic redirect that auto-forwards your URL and all email for your domain to your existing ISP account for $5.95 per month. Our online signup for that service is not ready yet, but just let us know if you are interested and we can set it up for you manually. We can also provide regular site hosting for you at $20 per month. You can check the details and can sign up at http://velocity.macconnect.com. |
|
5. I registered my domain within the last 24 hours, but when I do a lookup on it, it still shows as available. What's going on?
Domains registered with MacintoshDomains.com are processed within 24 business hours of submission. If your domain is still showing as available, odds are we just have not processed your request yet. In some cases, the WHOIS database is not updated even though your registration has already been processed. Not to worry. Once we process your registration, nobody else can take your domain name(s). |
